With the ever increasing gas prices it may be more difficult for many campers to travel very far this year. If you want to save money on gas this camping season (or any) plan your gas purchases ahead of time. It doesn’t matter if you are traveling 50 miles or 500 miles, planning ahead should save you some money. Here’s how: Use a website such as gasbuddy and plan ahead to determine the best places for buying gas along the way and how much gas to buy at each stop. Maybe when you leave you should only fill up with 5 gallons, then 100 miles down the road top the tanks off because gas is much cheaper in another city, county, or state. You could probably figure out a simple plan in 5 or 10 minutes. Maybe you’ll save enough for a night of steaks on the campfire instead of hotdogs every night!
