If you are going on a camping trip with your spouse and kids, a dome tent may not be the best choice, especially if your kids are toddlers or older.  Yes some dome tents may hold 3-4 people, but a family (with lots of extra stuff such as diaper bags, toys, extra clothing, etc…) needs a little more elbow room.  A growing family would be better off with a larger tent such as a cabin or family style tent.
